Wolverton Town Trail and Floodplain Forest Nature Reserve
7.5 miles circular walk in Milton Keynes. The walk starts along the River Great Ouse and Ouse Valley Park before alighting to New Bradwell Park and then the Grand Union Canal. We join the 2.5km Wolverton Walk, a town trail guided by terrazzo pavement markers, taking us to some of the historical and architectural highlights throughout the town. We visit two historic churches, St George the Martyr in the centre of town and Holy Trinity in Old Wolverton. Our walk ends with the Floodplain Forest Nature Reserve, a perfect escape from urban life. It was formerly pasture land, quarried in 2007-2014 for sand and gravel. It reopened to the public in 2016 with 2km of footpaths, bird hides and information boards.
