Weekend walking break in Buxton/Central Peak District

Join us for a spring walking break in the Central Peak District, Derbyshire (For members of the Ramblers only). From Friday 23 April 2027 [4 pm check in] to Monday 26 April 2027 [10 am check out]

Three nights away, two days walking with perhaps a short (5-6 mile) and a long (8-10 mile) walk each walking day. Details of the walks are not yet known but will be agreed with those walk leaders joining the trip. Be aware that will not have done a “recce” on these walks; but will use recommended routes and we will ensure that at least one experienced walk leader is present on each walk.

Our base for the walk will be Lee Wood Hotel, Buxton, Derbyshire recently acquired and upgraded by the walking cooperative HF Holidays. It is about 120 miles from Milton Keynes. Full Board, including a packed lunch on each walking day, for three nights from Friday 23 April 2027 currently costs £539 for a single en-suite room and £509 per person for a double room. These are book now “early bird” prices and the rates will be higher later this year. Members of “HF holidays” get a £30 discount on these prices.

If you prefer you can book your own accommodation rather than stay with HF Holidays. We will be starting each walk at 10 am outside Lee Wood Hotel.  Wherever you are staying, please let the organiser (Philip T Mobile: 07710 423032) know that you will be coming; so, no one gets lost or left out.  

Shared cars to the hotel from MK can be arranged on request. If you are travelling by train, there is a station at Buxton, and the Hotel is only 10 minutes’ walk.
