River Ouse, Buckingham Canal, and Castlethorpe

We will follow the river Ouse, past the Iron Bridge Aqueduct to Stony Stratford. We then cross the river, up to the Buckingham branch of the Grand Union canal and Cosgrove and on across fields to Castlethorpe. The return is via cycle and footpaths following the railway back to The flood plane nature reserve

We will stop for a lunch and toilet break at the Pavilion café in Castlethorpe..

There are no stiles on this route. The walk is along hard track paths alongside the river and canal, but also some grassy paths through fields with cattle and sheep.  Bring a packed lunch or snacks.

Meet at Wolverton Manor car park (upper end). [Note the change of starting point since this walk was first published]
